Wayne had learned of the old LaFrance Pet Cemetery on Gardner Road in the town of Binghamton and after visiting it, decided that he was up to the challenge of cleaning up the area and restoring this final resting place of so many beloved pets. This was also the final resting place of Binghamton’s Hero, Exterminator “Old Bones”, the 1918 Kentucky Derby winner owned by WIllis Sharpe Kilmer. Wayne’s son, Allen, moved back from North Carolina to help with the restoration of the neglected cemetery. They spent many hours clearing brush and locating and attempting to level the stones that were present, which proved to be a daunting task. They decided to leave all of the pets that had been previously laid to rest on the left side of Exterminator as is, and to not further disturb the spots, but to maintain the area.

Our Pennsylvania location was started by our founder, Wayne McMichael, after his beloved dog “Smokey” passed away. He wanted to keep his faithful companion nearby, and realized the need for a proper Pet Cemetery. Wayne researched and designed his cemetery on 3 beautiful acres of his farmland in East Smithfield, Pennsylvania. There are currently over 400?? Pets buried in this picturesque location, including several police and service dogs. The desire from pet parents for cremation encouraged Wayne to begin the cremation side of the company, working with local veterinarians to provide prompt return of a loved pet back to his or her proper place where they belong.
